Former track coach charged with sexual assault of a student
(WEAU) - A former Thorp track coach has been charged with having sex with a student.
Scott Bergman, 43, is charged in Clark County court with a felony count of sexual assault of a student by school staff and two misdemeanors. Bergman is charged with having sex with a 17 year old girl last November.
A letter from the school district shows Bergman's contract as assistant track coach was not renewed in December, and the school district banned him from attending any activities involving thorp students.
He faces a maximum of six years in prison on the felony charge.
