BARRON, Wis. (BARRON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE) -- On Friday, September 20, 2013, at 4:54 p.m., the Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a two vehicle head on crash on Hwy 8 east of Barron.
Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department, the Barron Fire Department, Lakeview Medical Center Ambulance, the Barron Police Department and Mayo Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that a 2010 Ford Explorer driven by a John Brandrup, 83 from Rochester MN, crossed the center line and struck a 2003 Mercury Sable driven by Morgan Vanzile, 21 from Crandon WI.
A passenger in each vehicle, Nancy Brandrup, 83, and Jacob Wojcik, 22, along with the drivers were all transported to Mayo hospital with injuries. Morgan Vanzile had the most serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Brandrup was cited for inattentive driving and all the occupants were wearing their seatbelts.
