EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) --Four teenagers are injured after plunging their car into a cranberry marsh.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Department says the crash happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday evening, near the intersection of Copper Road and Exodus Avenue in the Town of Byron.
Deputies say the teens were driving on a private cranberry marsh looking for a fishing hole, and did not realize the trail had turned, when they hit a deep ditch.
One passenger, 17 year-old Victor Pennington of Tomah, has been transferred to a La Crosse hospital with critical injuries.
Naomi Hatfield of Tomah, Brandon Gebhardt of Warrens, and Ashley Tanner of Oakdale, all 17, are hospitalized at Tomah Memorial Hospital for their injuries.
None of the passengers were wearing seatbelts.
