Funeral set for Friday for Menomonie pilot who died in airshow crash

MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The pilot who died in a crash at an airshow in Stevens Point Sunday will be buried with military honors.

An obituary for William Cowden of Menomonie says funeral services are at Menomonie Alliance Church on Friday at 11 a.m. Visitation starts at 9 a.m. Burial is at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner. A memorial service is also planned at the Fargo Air Museum in Fargo, ND at 2 p.m. on June 13.

Cowden, 47, was doing an aerial maneuver at the airshow when his plane crashed in the woods. Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash.
