(WEAU) - Family and friends gathered Thursday to remember Eau Claire murder victim Paul Oberle, 39.

A visitation was held Thursday morning at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and was followed by a service and burial. More than 100 people came to the service.

Friends say they were devastated by news of his death. One of Oberle’s co-workers, Justin Buckwalter says he is "heartbroken. He was a teacher. You know he was a hard worker, friendly, very outgoing."

Investigators say Oberle was murdered over the weekend. His father found his body Saturday afternoon outside his home on Vine Street in Eau Claire.

Police say they have a suspect detained, but have not released that person's name.
