Furniture store donates hundreds of turkeys to Salvation Army

(WEAU) - Hundreds of families in need will have a warm meal this holiday thanks to the Salvation Army and people in La Crosse.

Wettstein’s, a furniture and appliance store was giving away turkeys during a promotion last month and gave their shoppers the choice to take their turkey home or donate them to the Salvation Army. The owner, Dan Wettstein, says it’s nice to know that his business will help families have a brighter holiday.

Wettstein says his goal was to donate 200 turkeys but the employees also decided to help give a little more this year. After the employee turkey donations, they had a total of 228 birds.
