Futures Dinner raises money for Boys and Girls Club

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) People had the chance to get a nice meal while raising some money for a good cause.

It was the first annual Great Futures Dinner for the Boys and Girls Club in Chippewa Falls.

Organizers say it was a night to show the kids in the area just how important they are.

Kids got ribs for dinner, while the adults had pulled pork sandwiches.

There was a silent and live auction, with all proceeds going back to the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley.

"This is our first signature fundraiser for the Chippewa Falls Club and it's twofold, we of course want to show the community what the Boys and Girls Club is, we want to introduce them to the kids, the kids are performing tonight, they have created wonderful artwork...And then of course it is a fundraiser so we can continue to offer these programs to the kids at a very low cost," says organizer Sara Antonson.

WEAU's Judy Clark was the proud emcee for the event.
