Gas leak causes evacuations in Osseo

(WEAU) - More than a dozen homes were evacuated Monday night because of a gas leak.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. in Osseo. Fire Chief Nels Gunderson says construction crews were working on Main Street and installed a new gas line. Part of that gas line started leaking.

He says several streets and about 18 homes were evacuated.

Gunderson says WE Energies crews repaired the line, and the gas was supposed to be turned back on Monday night.
