Girl Scouts celebrating 100th Birthday

(WEAU) - Monday is a big day for the Girl Scouts as the organization is celebrating its 100th Birthday.

Girls in our area are participating in a project called “100 for 100,” where they log 100 hours of community service. Then on June 16th, there will be a big celebration at Lambeau Field for all the Girl Scouts, past and present.

Jess Radke with the Girl Scouts told us Monday "Girl Scouts has been around since 1912. It was started by a troop of 18 girls and now it’s been 50 million girls and women ever since then so it’s a pretty impressive organization and it stands for a lot of great things."

Monday night, the Empire State Building will also be lit up in green to celebrate the anniversary.
