“Give a Kid a Book” campaign kicks off

(WEAU) - The L.E. Phillips Public Library in Eau Claire is collecting books for kids this holiday season.

The 18th annual “Give a Kid a Book” project started Monday and runs through December 18th. Last year the "Give a Kid a Book” campaign gave out 4,000, and this year is shooting for 6,500.

The library is asking for new, unwrapped books that you can drop off there, UW-Eau Claire's holiday concert or at Books A Million.

Committee Chair of the project, Glenda Winders says they need “books for children, board books for toddlers, pictures books for lower elementary grades, non-fiction for middle and high school any kind of book we can use.”

The books will be given to area agencies serving children and teens.

You can also donate money to be used to buy new books.
