“Giving Bowls” raises money for Fall Creek food bank

(WEAU) - Tables were turned Thursday night, as grade school kids were serving the dinner in Fall Creek.

Kindergarten through 5th grade students, as well as community members, made bowls and then students served up soup to hungry folks for the 3rd annual "Giving Bowls" fundraiser.

The money raised from the dinner is going to the Fall Creek Community Cupboard food pantry.

Art Teacher and organizer Tasha Newton said "it's a great community event, it gets everyone involved and it's a great way to showcase all the amazing students' artwork. We have a lot of talented students here."

Newton says they raised $2,000 for the food pantry last year and hoped to surpass that number this year.
