Giving shoes to those in need

By  |

CORNELL, Wis. (WEAU) A local care center is joining an international shoe charity by increasing efforts to provide shoes to those in need.

The Cornell Area Care Center is now getting on board with the "Soles-4-Souls" shoe charity.

The charity says some 700-million pairs of shoes are thrown away by Americans each year.

By donating footwear, the shoes will be given a second chance at life by being redistributed nationally or even internationally.

"Soles-4-Souls" says the charity has distributed more than 19-million pairs of shoes world-wide.
