Bob Capaul of Alma Center even reveals a Green Bay Packers bathroom, decked out with posters and green and gold tiles.
Alma Center, WI (WEAU) - The Packers season is underway! That means thousands of fans will flock to games or their TV's to catch a glimpse of the green and gold in action. But if you thought you were a diehard packers fan, you probably won't top this. A local fan has been collecting packer's memorabilia for 42 years.
"All my life I've been a Packer fan. If I live and died and stay with them through the 70's, I'm a dire hard packer fan I think,” said Bob Capaul, collector.
Since 1996, Bob Capaul lived in Alma Center and it's always packer's time in his basement.
"I never thought it would grow into this, but I guess it has. I had a poster I traded with a buddy on a bus for when I was like 10 years old and I just been collecting ever since. I've just been going to flee markets, garage sales and everywhere just looking for packers stuff and I finally needed a place to put it and I talked my wife into giving me this room in the basement so I could,” explained Bob.
Whether you’re walking into the basement from the outside or down the stairs, it's wall to wall with signed pictures of current players and legends.
"My mom was a huge packers fan and I had two brothers and a sister and we all became huge fans and my dad even in his later years became a packer fan,” said Bob.
He even off the wall items like a Packer’s cabin his aunt made and Packer paper towels.
But some things have more meaning to Bob, like a packers stock he received for his 50th birthday.
“My boys and my wife say I almost I cried about it, but I'm not so sure about that. But it’s really neat that I own the part of the packers. I'm a big Ray Nitschke fan and my mom before he passed away on my 40th birthday she wrote into him and he sent back a card with his initials on there and wrote directly to me,” said Bob.
He even has a Packers bathroom in this green and gold paradise.
"I kind of went overboard probably but I found the tile I just loaded it up with posters. Probably went a little crazy on, but what the heck you got to have some fun in life. I'm a packers fan and I've been all my life and I will be all my life and it’s just something I love to do. I just love watching them on the weekends. Follow them all the way through the year,” said Bob.
When asked how much the collection was worth in his bar, he wasn’t sure.
