EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Governor Scott Walker made a stop in our area to take part in computer company Intel's grand opening.
The company currently has more than 50 jobs in the Chippewa Valley and plans on expanding its campus in Eau Claire. In April, Cray announced it was selling part of a hardware development program to Intel.
Governor Walker says technology companies like Intel and Cray are key to job growth in the state. "It’s exciting they are here in the Chippewa Valley and you have a major corporation that’s made an investment here with some really top talent in engineering. One of our goals is to make sure to continue to make it profitable to continue to be here in the Chippewa Valley," Walker said.
Intel currently employs more than 100,000 employees worldwide.
