Gov. Walker says he enjoyed jury duty

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker says he enjoyed his experience sitting on the jury of a personal injury case in Milwaukee County, even though he didn't get to be a part of the deliberations.

Walker told The Associated Press on Wednesday that on Monday night he alerted the judge, through law enforcement officials, that he received $2,000 in campaign donations from the CEO of Secura Insurance. The Appleton insurance firm was the defendant in the case Walker was hearing.

Walker says after that was disclosed, it was determined he would serve as the alternate juror. He was dismissed from the case after closing arguments Wednesday.

Walker says he hopes his experience shows that anyone can be selected for jury duty and that "nobody should consider themselves too busy to be picked."
