Gov. Walker visits Chippewa Falls to celebrate business expansion

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) Governor Scott Walker was back in the area Monday to be part of a groundbreaking for an expanding local business.

He visited Advanced Laser Machining Inc. in Chippewa Falls for the groundbreaking and a job announcement.

Crews broke ground on a $3.5 million expansion that is expected to create 27 new jobs, in addition to its 100 employees.

Governor Walker says Advanced Laser Machining is building on its already-strong contribution to the local economy.

"That you don't create jobs just by announcing it, you don't do it through programs, you do it by empowering companies to invest in equipment, capital expansions, and ultimately in growth expansions," says Walker.

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is providing the company with almost $95,000 in tax credits for the project.
