ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- A new state law that rewards businesses for helping employees be healthy was signed by Governor Scott Walker in the Chippewa Valley Thursday.
The governor signed Senate Bill 73 at Group Health Cooperative in Altoona.
The new bill establishes a grant for new workplace wellness programs for small businesses, offering owners an incentive for starting a program.
Governor Walker says he hopes the initiative will boost worker morale and productivity.
