Granton breaks ground on demolition project

(WEAU) - People came together to break ground on a new project to revitalize the entry way to their village.

It happened in Granton. The village applied for and received a Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority grant to knock down an abandoned house that is on the edge of the village.

Village President Tom Gorst says “this is going to be a real great improvement to the Village of Granton. It's going to be tremendous. We're going to be making it into a green space."

They were hoping to begin demolition Monday, but were unable to because of asbestos that remains in the building.
