LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- An event hopes to teach the community that wellness is more than a healthy diet and exercise.
Gundersen Health System is holding its third annual Wellness Fest Saturday.
The event is open to anyone.
It includes health screenings, bike safety inspections and a limited number of free bike helmets.
Gundersen said the event is designed to educate people about the seven dimensions of wellness including spiritual, social and intellectual wellness.
Gundersen wants the community to learn to live a more balanced lifestyle.
“We really want people to take a proactive approach at wellness. So we have many different booths, many different Gundersen departments with some educational information on taking ownership of your own health,” said wellness education specialist Shayna Schertz.
Wellness Fest is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the La Crosse Center.
Admission is free, but you're encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation.
