HAPPENING TONIGHT: City council to hear public comment on CVS Pharmacy proposal

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Members of the Eau Claire City Council will hear public comment on the proposal to build a CVS Pharmacy at the site of the former Woo's Pagoda restaurant.

The public hearing is scheduled for Monday evening's meeting. Members of the council will decide whether to approve a site plan for the pharmacy at the northwest corner of South Hastings Way and Brackett Avenue, and to rezone the property there. CVS has been working with a local real estate company for the past year on the plan. Council members will also hear public input on a plan to vacate Donnellan Lane from Brackett Avenue to Ohm Avenue, and move it west. That would improve the intersection at Brackett Avenue, and make room for the new building.

The council is scheduled to vote on the proposal Tuesday. If approved, the former Woo's Pagoda building, which was most recently the Red Parrot Nightclub & Lounge, is expected to be dismantled next month.
