HEAT WAVE 2012: La Crosse woman dies from heat related causes

(WEAU) – A 68-year-old La Crosse woman has died from heat related causes.

The La Crosse County Medical Examiner tells WEAU.com the woman was found following a call from someone who requested she be checked on.

When the woman was found inside her south side on Mississippi street last night, the inside temperature was 109 degrees.

Her body temp was 104.

Another death could be associated with the heat in La Crosse County.

The Medical Examiner tells WEAU.com an elderly Onalaska man went for a walk last night.

Upon returning home, he collapsed and died.

WEAU.com has contacted other medical examiner offices throughout the Chippewa Valley and Coulee region.

None of them are reporting any heat related deaths at this time.
