Badger 5 is a $1 daily lotto game. Jackpots start at $ 10,000 and grow a minimum of
$1,000 per day until they are won. Players win the rolling jackpot by matching their five
numbers to the five winning numbers drawn each night.
MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) -- A lottery win is twice as nice for a Hayward man.
On Wednesday, the Wisconsin Lottery said Thomas Dembinski of Hayward bought two $5 Badger 5 tickets with sets of numbers that were virtually identical. One set of numbers on each ticket matched the winning numbers in the drawing on August 29. Dembinski got to split the jackpot with himself.
Dembinski's winnings totaled more than $60,000. He received about $40,500 after taxes. He bought the tickets at SSG Holiday on U.S. Highway 63 North in Hayward. The store received a $1,200 commission for selling the winning tickets.
The next Badger 5 drawing is Wednesday night. The jackpot is $27,000.
