Heat causes stretches of Highway 29 to buckle

By  |

VILLAGE OF LAKE HALLIE, Wis. (WEAU) Highway 29 is back open in Lake Hallie after the road buckles Monday afternoon.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says both westbound lanes near County Road F were blocked off when the road buckled around 4:15pm.

Traffic was forced onto the shoulder of the road to avoid it.

Repair crews say the road was opened back up just after 7:00 pm.

But just after crews cleared that scene, they say Highway 29 buckled again in Stanley.

Repair crews are now on scene there.
