Heat Wave 2012: Increasing Retail Sales
EAU CLAIRE, Wis (WEAU) The extreme heat is causing many people to forget being outside all together.
Whether it's the mall or a theater.. People are searching out cool places.
Oakwood Mall manager Betsey Maher says this week the mall has seen a big increase in people heading to the mall and the movies to beat the heat.

"I like the heat but it's too humid this is a nice treat being in the air conditioning"
In here it's easy to forget the scorching heat outside.
The Micon Theater has been busier than normal this week.
“We were choosing between the pool and the movies and we decided movie today pool tomorrow."
“This week's extreme heat has left many people giving up on the outdoors and looking for air conditioning.”
Sears at the Oakwood Mall is sold out of portable and window air conditioners
"We were doing ok until yesterday and now were out so many people have been coming in looking for one," says Sylvia Hedge
Sears will get a small shipment in tomorrow but store manager Sylvia hedge says with the heat wave affecting areas across the country air conditioners will be hard to come by all summer.
Hedge says the store has also seen increase in swimming suit sales.
