TOWN OF RUSK, Wis. (WEAU) -- Heavy rain caused washouts on three gravel roads in Southwestern Rusk County.

Town of Rusk Chairperson Lisa Dobrowolski says they happened on Sugar Lake Road, Buck Lake Road, and Bata Road, which are all east of Chetek. She said the area received almost four inches of rain in just a few hours Thursday night. Crews will end up replacing culverts and re-finishing the tops of the roads. Dobrowolski said repairs have started, and are expected to be finished during the weekend, depending on the weather. The cost of the repairs could be $15,000-$20,000.

Water could also be seen across Horseshoe Lake Road and Hogback Road, but Dobrowolski said Friday afternoon that it appeared to be receding.
