17 year-old boy in jail after high speed chase

LA CROSSE, Wis., (WEAU) -- 17 year old boy is in jail tonight after leading deputies on a high speed chase through Vernon and La Crosse counties.

Deputies say 17 year old James D. Cagney, of Nerstrand, MN, stole his mother's car early this morning.

Deputies say the chase began in rural Viroqua after the vehicle was located on Highway 14 heading westbound.

La Crosse Deputies deployed spikes, blowing out 3 tires.

Deputies say at times the chase reached more than 100 miles per hour.
