Hmong New Year celebration

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Hundreds of people gathered for the annual Hmong New Year today in Eau Claire area.

The Hmong New Year marks the end of the harvest season and it is a time where families give thanks to their ancestors and welcome in the New Year.

The celebration also serves to educate those who have an interest in learning more about Hmong traditions and culture.
