The home was up for auction in August but was sold back to the credit union after no one placed a bid on the foreclosed property.
RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WEAU)-- The home where three young girls were killed by their father will be torn down.
A spokesperson from Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, which owns the property in River Falls, says crews will begin dismantling the home Monday and it will likely take all week.
The home is where 11-year-old Amara, 8-year-old Sophie and 5-year-old Cecilia Schaffhausen were killed by Aaron Schaffhausen last year. He's serving life in prison.
The salvageable items will be donated to the St. Croix Valley Habitat For Humanity. Proceeds from the sale of the land will also be donated to the Tri-Angels Playground in River Falls in honor of the girls.
