Walter is the first Children's Legacy Luncheon honoree from Menomonie.
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The honorees for the Children's Legacy Luncheon in April 2014 have been announced.
On Tuesday, the Eau Claire Community Foundation released the names of the five honorees. They are Colleen Bates, Chris Hambuch-Boyle, Christopher Stratton, Lisa Walter, and Vicki Hoehn. Bates is an Eau Claire County Board Supervisor who founded the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony. Hambuch-Boyle is a retired teacher who currently serves as an Early Childhood Consultant for CESA 10 and 11. Stratton founded the Eau Claire Robotics Club at Immanuel Lutheran High School, and volunteers with Wagner’s Wheels, which is a group of people with disabilities in a bowling league at Wagner’s Lanes in Eau Claire. Walter is UW-Stout Police Chief and Special Olympics-Wisconsin Board member. Hoehn is Vice President of Marketing at RCU and Board member of the United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin.
People in the community nominated the five honorees to recognize their work on behalf of children. The luncheon is on April 24, 2014 at the Florian Gardens in Eau Claire. It raises money for the foundation's Children’s Legacy Endowment Fund. It supports grants to local projects that enhance the health and well-being of children in the community.
