Hospital patients receive Valentine’s Day cards from elementary students

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Some patients at a local hospital got a little present this Valentine’s Day.

Kids at Manz and Northwoods Elementary Schools in Eau Claire spent this week making cards for the hospital patients at Mayo Clinic Health System.

One patient we talked to Thursday said it was a great surprise and really lifted her spirits. "I just ordered my breakfast this morning and there was this darling little valentine on it and I just thought how sweet of these children. This really meant a lot. It was really special," said Lisa Green.

The homemade cards were given out to the patients during their meal times.
