EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – A possible medical condition among animals at an area humane association has the facility closed for the next two weeks.

The Eau Claire County Humane Association says it is working with veterinarians to diagnose the condition in its cats. It will remain closed to volunteers and visitors from Tuesday until July 9.

Board of Directors member Paula Stuettgen told WEAU 13 News she didn’t have additional details, but called the move to close the shelter “unprecedented.”

The humane association asks that people interested in adopting dogs or other small animals to look at them on its website. It says those people can set up appointments to see the animals by calling (715) 839-4747, extension 21.
