EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- In rain and shine, people made it down to Eau Claire's Summer Fest on Saturday.
The all-day event is put on by Downtown Eau Claire Incorporated.
Kids got a chance to ride ponies and feed animals at the petting zoo, while some people watch professional "strongmen" pull a semi. Others even took part in the Tour de Summer Fest for the 10-mile community bike ride.
"We love Summer Fest, it's one of those events where people of all social status, it's a community gathering place again and its wonderful," says Rachel Keniston with Community Table.
"Its an opportunity in regards to as far as coming out and enjoying the wonderful community events that we have here in Eau Claire," says Bob Lesniewski of Eau Claire.
Around 8:30 p.m., kids will make wishes and launch wish lanterns over the river and into the night sky near the pavilion at Phoenix Park.
