Illinois woman killed in snowmobile crash

Deputies say 68-year-old Judi A. Nykaza from Grayslake, IL, crashed in the ditch on County Road O near W9660 County Road O in Jackson County.


JACKSON COUNTY, Wis. (RELEASE FROM JACKSON CO. SHERIFF'S DEPT.)-- On Tuesday, 12-31-13, at around 8:55pm Deputies responded to a report of a missing snowmobile operator in the area of Manchester Township, Jackson County. The missing snowmobiler was identified as Judi A. Nykaza 68yoa from Grayslake IL. Judi was traveling with two other snowmobiles when she got separated from the group.

Deputies along with volunteers and others from the group searched the trails and roads attempting to locate the missing snowmobiler.

At around 11:20pm 12-31-13 Jackson County Dispatch received calls from several passersby that they had found the snowmobile and Judi Nykaza, who was unresponsive, crashed in the ditch on County Road O near W9660 County Road O in Jackson County.

Deputies along with several others on scene rendered medical aid, including CPR and use of an automated defibrillator until she was transported to Black River Falls Memorial Hospital by the Black River Falls ambulance. Judi did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the Black River Memorial Hospital.
