RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. (WEAU) -- Investigators are looking into the death of an inmate.

On Saturday night, staff in the Richland County Jail found Jamie Holcomb, 27, of Whitewater hanging in the sleeping area of her cell block. Rescue crews responded and tried to use a defibrillator to resuscitate her. She was taking to the hospital, where she later died. Holcomb had been an inmate in the jail since May 21. She was booked on three felony bail jumping charges involving harassment injunction violations, and additional telephone harassment and misdemeanor drug charges. Her bond had been set at $3,000 cash, but she had said she couldn't post it.

An autopsy was set for Monday. The state jail inspector's office is expected to evaluate the case.
