Irvine Park gets a clean up on Earth Day

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) The old schoolhouse and cabin at Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls got a spring spruce up Tuesday thanks to some local volunteers.

Every year in honor of Earth Day, Chippewa Falls Rotary members come together to clean out all of leaves and debris that blew in during the winter months inside the historic buildings.

Rotarians say they want the cabin and schoolhouse to be all ready to go come tourism season.

"It's a nice way for us to be able to do something that the parks department doesn't have to pay money for people to do and just to help out the community and make it nice for people coming through," says Lisa Bruhn of the Rotary.

This was the third year the Rotary Club cleaned up at the park.
