MINNEAPOLIS, Min. (RELEASE FROM JEFFERSON LINES)-- Jefferson Lines today announced that due to low ridership it has discontinued bus service between Duluth, MN and Eau Claire, WI as of December 6, 2013. While Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire can be serviced within Jefferson’s Minneapolis to Green Bay daily route, the following Wisconsin cities will no longer be serviced by Jefferson Lines; Solon Springs, Minong, Spooner, Rice Lake, Chetek and Bloomer.
“After providing bus service to several communities between Duluth and Eau Claire for the last two years we made the decision, as a result of low ridership, to discontinue this route,” explained Kevin Pursey, Director of Marketing at Jefferson Lines. “We never like discontinuing service to an area,” said Pursey, “but running this route with so few riders simply isn’t efficient.” Jefferson Lines will continue to offer an extensive network of bus transportation routes throughout the Midwest and remains committed to providing quality transportation options to many rural communities.
