SPARTA, Wis. (WEAU) – A man is headed to prison in the case of a crash that killed in brother four years ago.

Court records show that a judge sentenced Jason Schodeberg, 27, of Sparta to five years prison time, and five years of extended supervision on Thursday.

The crash happened in July 2009 on State Highway 33 in Cashton. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department says witnesses and DNA evidence helped them arrest Schodeberg three years later. Deputies say he was driving the car. Jason’s brother, Glenn Schodeberg, 30, died in the crash. Deputies suspected that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
