Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. (DECI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the development of business, housing, and cultural resources and activities within downtown Eau Claire. DECI is driven by a Board of Directors consisting of twenty-one members who represent businesses, neighborhoods, government, and Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) that operate in Downtown Eau Claire. Public meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30 a.m.
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Ideas for a full-service creative agency and a digital media and marketing service provider were the winners in an annual competition.
On Thursday afternoon, Downtown Eau Claire Inc. announced the winners of its ninth annual Jump-Start Downtown Business Plan Competition at the RCU Corporate Center in Eau Claire. The first place prize went to Katie Wolff, Larisa Shewczyk, Joey Olson, and Josh Smeltzer for their business plan to open Clever Owl. It will offer graphic design, writing, and web development services. They received $5,000. Jonathan Leuthe's plan to create Spin Vision won him the runner-up prize of $3,000. His company will have an emphasis on virtual tours and mobile marketing and advertising for local real estate, businesses, and tourism industries.
Both ideas were awarded a $500 media package.
