K9 used to help arrest man with gun

CAMERON, Wis. (WEAU)--A Cameron man is behind bars after investigators say he was involved in a domestic abuse incident with his mother.

The Barron County Sheriff's Department says 28-year-old Jeff Young was arrested on Saturday. Deputies say around five that morning, they were called to a home at 800 South Limits in the Village of Cameron. When they got there, Young took off.

Deputies got a report that Young had stopped at another home and grabbed a 30-30 rifle. About an hour later, a Rice Lake Police Officer spotted Young’s vehicle traveling on W. Knapp Street in Rice Lake.
Officers were able to stop him, and with the help of a K9, took Young into custody. The uncased 30-30 rifle was located in the front seat of the vehicle.

He was taken to the Barron County jail and could face several charges including strangulation and suffocation, OWI, battery, criminal damage to property and domestic abuse.
