Kids give up Halloween candy with dental buyback

(WEAU) - The day after Halloween is usually when kids everywhere really dig into their bowls of delicious treats, but some chose to give their candy back.

Thursday night, Fall Creek Dental was paying kids for their Halloween candy. The company gives the trick-or-treaters $1 per pound of candy and then they donate the candy as a part of Operation Gratitude, which sends items to service members overseas.

Tony Pilgrim with Fall Creek Dental said "We give them one night to eat what they can and then they get cash for the candy so they're not losing out totally and the troops get a treat too."

Regis Court Dental Associates in Eau Claire also took part in the candy buyback Thursday.
