Kids go to Eau Claire Express game for free

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) Young baseball fans had a fun-filled afternoon at the ballpark for the "Free Kids Game" at Carson Park Monday.

Kids kindergarten through 12th grade got the chance to see a rare afternoon game between the Eau Claire Express and the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.

The day included face painting, a pitching machine, games, and a player autograph session.

Dr. Adam Atkins with Marshfield Clinic says it is a great way to get the kids out of the house on a summer day.

"This is just a good chance for us to get the kids out, it's a great day for afternoon baseball, and just to get the kids active and out in the community. Really just promoting a active lifestyle and to be healthy," says Atkins.

Marshfield Clinic sponsored the game. Physical therapists were also there to talk about injury prevention and improving pitching consistency.
