La Crosse airport installs electric vehicle charging station

LA CROSSE, Wis. (LA CROSSE REGIONAL AIRPORT NEWS RELEASE) -- The La Crosse Regional Airport has installed a Level 2 electric vehicle charging station in the terminal parking lot. “This charging station is on the ChargePoint network and will allow any of our valued customers with an electric vehicle to make sure they have a full charge when they return from their trip, this is just one more customer service tool we have implemented to make flying from La Crosse the best experience possible for all customers!” stated Clinton Torp, Airport Manager. The charging station is one of just a handful at airports throughout the country and in La Crosse. Mayor of La Crosse Tim Kabat stated “the charging station is a great addition to the La Crosse Regional Airport for several reasons – it is another feather in our cap for enhancing the customer experience in La Crosse, as well as furthering our City’s sustainability goals and program so that we can help to reduce our carbon footprint.”

Up to two users can utilize the charging station at any time free of charge. To access the unit a user must wave a ChargePoint user card or any wireless credit card to release one of the two charging units. On screen instructions guide the user throughout the entire process ensuring ease of use. With the ChargePoint network, users can load real-time information about the charging station from their website at The Airport will receive instant information on how much energy was used, how much greenhouse gases have been saved, and other pertinent information to decide on future system enhancements.
