Sader and Sloan are scheduled to appear in La Crosse County court for their initial appearances on Friday.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU)-- Police say faulty wiring from an apparent marijuana grow operation is the cause of a fire at an apartment complex in La Crosse last week.
33-year-old Micheal Sloan and 33-year-old Melissa Sader are facing charges including manufacturing and delivering THC.
On September 16th, fire crews were called to the fire at 720 Main Street in La Crosse. According to the criminal complaint, after the fire was put out, investigators found 24 marijuana plants in Sloan and Sader's apartment.
Investigators say the likely cause for the fire was faulty wiring in the grow operation lighting and ventilation system. The complaint says Sloan and Sader have an eight year old child together who was sleeping in the bedroom of the apartment at the time that the fire started and Sader had to get the child out of the bedroom.
