La Crosse man accused of exposing himself to girls

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A La Crosse man is accused of exposing himself to two 14-year-old girls.

Prosecutors recently filed criminal charges against Jonathan McNell, 29. A complaint says when one of the girls' mother picked them up on July 3, a man riding a bike had exposed himself to them. The mother told officers she found the man in Copeland Park in La Crosse, and grabbed the back tire of his bike. She went on to say the man threatened to kill her, and used the bike to hit her in the forearm. She let go of the bike, and he took off. One of the girls also told officers she and the other girl were near St. James Church on Caledonia Street, when a man exposed himself as he rode by.

Three days later, officers responded to a report of a fight on St. James Street, and figured out that someone was holding a suspect in the exposure case. An officer found McNell nearby, and arrested him. When officers questioned him, he told them he was sleeping at 8 p.m. on July 3. He is due in court on July 15.
