La Crosse Oktoberfest making changes for this year’s event

(WEAU) - Oktoberfest is making some new changes this year on the Northside Festgrounds.

Executive Director Tina Severson says that the Copeland Park Festgrounds will be alcohol and button free this year from Friday, September 28th until Thursday, October 4th. The decision to go alcohol free was made to open the park to a more teen friendly crowd.

The Northside shelter will also be getting a makeover. It has been renamed the LHI Community Festplatz, and it will be getting new siding to provide a secure windblock.
