Lambeau Field sales tax to end by end of 2015

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Brown County sales tax that has helped fund Lambeau Field improvements will end by the end of 2015.

Reports say Patrick Webb, executive director of the Green Bay/Brown County Professional Football Stadium District, provided the Brown County Board of Supervisors' Executive Committee with an update Monday evening.

He said the 0.5 percent sales tax will expire no later than the end of 2015 and possibly as soon as Sept. 30, 2015.

The district was set up by state law after Brown County voters in fall of 2000 approved a plan to fund improvements to Lambeau Field with the 0.5 percent sales tax.

The tax produces about $20 million annually.
