Last minute Thanksgiving preparations

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Thanksgiving is Thursday, and many of us will be gathering around our tables and their TV’s.

On Wednesday, people were making last minute preparations before the big day.

They say they’re looking forward to food, family, and football.

“Family time, just getting together with everybody. It’s one of the holidays where it seems like it draws people together,” said Stephanie Dickson.

“Be sure to watch the Packer game. Definitely gotta watch the Packers. It’s Wisconsin,” said Mike Novak.

“We’re just going to sit at home, make our turkey and all the fixings and have some family over,” said Sara Pederson.

“We’re just going to have a little, small dinner and a couple friends, some family coming over and just relax,” said Jim Williams.

And a favorite Thanksgiving food?

“I would say the stuffing, turkey, the pies,” said Pederson.

“I’d have to say stuffing. You know turkey’s great, but once a year is more than enough,” said Williams.

“Turkey of course,” said Julia McConnell.

While Thanksgiving is about getting together with people we care about, it’s also a day to celebrate everything we have in life.

“I am thankful for having food in general, having a nice place to live in the winter and having the ability to go to school and having this day to spend with my friends,” said Kevin Scoggins.

“I’m thankful for my kids and my family and for everybody to get together,” said McConnell.

“My cat,” said Kyara Hess.
