City of Eau Claire is planning a full residential snow plow operation beginning at 2:00pm. They hope to be finished by midnight.

Xcel Energy tells WEAU 13 News, work crews restored power to more than 75 percent who lost power during the snowstorm. About 9,400 customers were affected starting Thursday evening. As of Friday afternoon, about 2,100 customers are still without power, Xcel hopes to have their lights back on by midnight.

The storm system has already brought a combination of pretty much every type of precipitation to the SkyWarn13 viewing area including rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow with some of the worst of the snow now behind us.

Ice accumulations in the Chippewa Valley overnight and into this morning totaling around .10" to .25". Ice accumulations on trees, power lines, and roadways are causing power outages and issues for drivers making roadways and sidewalks slippery.

Snowfall totals are starting to come in to the SkyWarn13 Weather Lab. Eau Claire picked up 7.6" of snow.
