Latest snow fall makes for busy night for troopers

(WEAU) – As the Chippewa Valley waits for spring, winter makes plans to stick around. Snow is covering up any chance of green grass and budding flowers.

If you’re traveling this St. Patrick’s Day weekend, the roads are slick as of Friday night. The 511 website shows roads around western Wisconsin are in blue and pink, meaning slippery or snow covered.

Tow truck drivers and officers and officers were busy Friday evening, dealing with slide-ins and rollovers on the roads.

One SUV went into the snow bank right off of Spooner Avenue due to the conditions.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says troopers are working on around 20 slide-ins and crashes, with Dunn, St. Croix and Chippewa Counties seeing the most problems so far.
