EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Friday, a 94-year-old veteran is saying goodbye to the job he has spent the past 14 years doing.
Palmer Myhers retired from his position as a groundskeeper at McDonald’s of Highway 37 in Eau Claire. Myhers says he worked all his life, including running his own veterinarian practice in Eleva and he also served in World War II.
He says he will really miss working and all the people there, but it is time to set down his leaf rake. Myhers told us “If I didn't work I'd get bored, because I've always worked all my life, practicing veterinarian work. I like working."
The last several years, Palmer has been working 3 days a week.
He says with all the time he is going to have now, he'll think about picking up a hobby, maybe travel and spend time with his wife.
